Introduction

Located in the Industrial Park of Astana, the new ENKO Administrative and Production Facility sets a benchmark for modern industrial construction in Kazakhstan.

Covering 5,000 m², the site includes a production workshop, finished goods warehouse, and an administrative building with offices, cafeteria, service centre, and training rooms. Equipped with its own gas boiler house and summer cooling system, the facility required a reliable, energy-efficient solution to manage diverse heating and cooling demands.

The Hydronic Challenge

The key objective was to maintain stable microclimate conditions across large-volume production and warehouse areas, while also adapting to the region’s extreme climatic conditions. Traditional heating units along the exterior walls were not feasible due to space restrictions, technological constraints, and low efficiency. For cooling, it was crucial to maintain a constant temperature differential across the chiller to ensure reliable and efficient operation.

Solution

IMI delivered a comprehensive hydronic system, designed to balance performance, sustainability, and operational simplicity. The solution included:

  • Radiant and underfloor heating systems with Dynacon Eclipse and STAD valves

  • Ceiling-mounted fan coils and heating panels with Compact-P and STAD

  • Air handling units equipped with CV 216, Modulator, Slider 500, and MC 55/230

  • Chiller piping using TA-Smart for precise control and improved efficiency

  • Boiler room systems with CV 316 + MC100, STAF, Zeparo Zio, and Transfero TV Connect

Ceiling-mounted panels with PIBCV Compact-P valves ensured stable heating even at 10 m installation height, reducing commissioning needs and maintaining reliable air parameters.

TA-Smart valves optimised the cooling system, lowering electricity use, while the Transfero TV provided automatic pressure maintenance and fluid degassing for long-term system stability.

“Due to the height and volume of our production facilities, traditional heating devices were not energy efficient enough. By using ceiling panels with PIBCV Compact‑P valves, setup work was minimised and the system required only one‑time commissioning, ensuring stable air parameters throughout the heating season. In addition, TA‑Smart valves improved chiller efficiency and reduced electricity consumption, while the Transfero TV system provided reliable automatic pressure maintenance and degassing. During operation, we have had no complaints during the heating season.”
