Residential New-Build Development
Pressure-independent hydronic and floor-heating control for 181 homes

Introduction
This project concerns a large residential new-build development in Europe, comprising residential units and shared-use areas.
The project required apartment-level hydronic control together with decentralised room-temperature control for floorheating applications.
The Hydronic Challenge
The residential units and shared-use areas required a repeatable control approach for small hydronic circuits and individual rooms. The project partners needed a consistent concept that could be coordinated across the development.
- Apply a repeatable control approach across the residential units
- Control differential pressure in small circuits within the building design
- Provide decentralised room-temperature control for floor-heating applications
- Coordinate the project owner, installer and contractor teams
Solution
Climate Control, a sector of IMI, supported the project with a pressure-independent hydronic control concept combining IMI TA TA-COMPACT-DP connection sets and IMI Heimeier Multibox Eclipse K units. TA-COMPACT-DP combines differentialpressure control, balancing, control, diagnostics and shut-off functions for small circuits. Multibox Eclipse K provides decentralised individual room-temperature control for floor-heating systems and incorporates flow limitation.
The system solution brings differential-pressure control, hydronic balancing and individual room-temperature control together within one repeatable concept for the development.
Project Approach
The selected combination establishes a consistent circuit-and-room control approach for residential units and shared-use areas. It gives the project partners one defined concept that can be applied across the development.
