IMI Heatmiser
The IMI Heatmiser Story

Shaping smart heating since 1968
Founded in 1968 in Blackburn, Lancashire, Heatmiser began as G&M Kay, a family-run electrical contracting firm. Over time, the company transitioned from local services to designing and manufacturing intelligent heating controls that delivered comfort, efficiency, and reliability in residential and commercial buildings.
By listening to installers, system designers, and homeowners, Heatmiser created connected, user-friendly products that became the preferred solution for many underfloor heating systems in the UK thanks to the introduction of zonal control functionality. This strong customer partnership and commitment to quality laid the foundation for Heatmiser’s role as a leader in smart climate control solutions.

Expanding our impact with IMI
In December 2022, Heatmiser joined IMI Hydronic Engineering, part of IMI plc. This strategic acquisition extended IMI’s connected solutions portfolio, adding smart heating controls that support both residential and commercial applications.
